There seems to be a constant ringing in our ears now! A symptom of the tinnitus (noise induced hearing loss) we have developed, that serves as a constant reminder of the years of abuse from monitor speakers that our poor ears have taken, Allisters lower back is sore to an almost crippling state  from stomping on the ground he has a broken thumb, we have bags under our eyes that wouldn't qualify as carry on luggage at the airport and we're both sporting a fresh set of sexy love handles . How did it come to this? Let's re-visit last week (a typical week) to see if the clues lie in our lifestyle choices!

WED MELODIC @ ECCO E.C TWINS & ANDY CALDWELL

Melodic is our legit house music event that we throw every Wed @ Ecco ultra lounge. Each week L.A's house music fraternity descends upon MELODIC to catch up. network and pretty much just have some fun. Unlike other Hollywood nights the Melodic crew dont give a fuck how big your tits are, how pretty you are, what your economic status is, or what race or sexuality you may be. Our only aim is to bring everybody together as equals and push the house music scene further forward in the U.S.A. The bottom line is that the events are all about the love of the music and no other fluff! The sound system at ECCO has been nominated for "THE WORLDS BEST SOUND SYSTEM" award, and with sub woofers installed in every seat, you can see how that may be so! You can literally feel the music!

This week we welcomed our friend Andy Caldwell to the turntables and we provided the opening set. Keeping it soulful for the first section of our set is always nice for us as we rarely get to play that style of house music in big rooms and festivals, so it's fun to deal with that craving publicly! Obviously we picked the tempo up a little before Andy Caldwell went up, so we can make sure everybody on the dance floor is ready to,, well , dance!

Andy Caldwells set was without doubt the best set we have seen him play! Full of energy and some amazing tracks that we are currently loving! MELODIC nights are  the events we use to display our knowledge of house music beyond the Hollywood scene, we push the limits and feel totally comfortable as artists within these walls. The crowd is open minded and they understand the music, so we rarely (if ever) have to compromise! We just pretty much play what we want from start to finish. Andy's set mirrored our own tastes, ignoring house musics genre "in fighting" and combining  classic house sounds with electro, deep, techy, tribal, vocal and latin infused riffs, full of energy! Basically, he played everything good and rocked the house!

Realizing that this was the beginning of a crazy week we headed home choosing to skip the usual fast food / 24 hour eatery habit that accompanies our lifestyles. Instead we headed home to work on more events, and try to grab a couple of hours rest.

Thursday @ MYHOUSE THE E.C TWINS, DJ DESTRUCTO AND EFREN RAMIREZ

As a one off, we chose to play MYHOUSE nightclub on Thursday for their first foray into the growing scene that is house music in The U.S.A! we accepted the booking as we would be playing with our good friend and celebrity DJ Efren Ramirez and also for the first time Dj Destructo. We have been friends with EFREN for a couple of years now, and he is such a great guy, so it was amazing to turn up early to watch him throw down an electro set. DESTRUCTO is the head honcho at HARD events and has been on the LA electronic music scene for years! We feel very fortunate to be able to work with artists whom we respect and after our set we hit the dancefloor as fans to show our support. It was a great night, great energy and we have made some great new friends! Long Live House Music!

FRIDAY @ TRIGGER SAN FRANCISCO

Ouch.., an early flight after a late gig, but we feel at home in SAN FRANCISCO now, so it felt totally worth it! After a 3 and a half hour delay at LAX we finally boarded and arrived in San Francisco. Our beloved friends at TRIGGER always book us in to the infamous PHOENIX hotel. It's a kitsch little spot renowned as a stop off point for rock bands on tour (hopefully a metaphor for the size and scope of the house music scene, that DJ's are making it a regular place to crash)! THE PHONENIX sits right on the edge of the cities "tenderloin" district! Let us assure you, there isn't anything tender about that place! It's fucking raw! Like a post apocalyptic society of drug dealers and junkies complete with flailing limbs and crack pipes! San Fran is such a beautiful city, but as a tourist, stay away from the tenderloin for the first few days, lest it tarnishes your image of this incredible place! After a few days, you may feel comfortable enough to check out "the loin".

TRIGGER takes pride of place right in the heart of THE CASTRO district! The staff, owners and management feel like an extended family to us! They always give us a warm welcome and we have been lucky enough to have a gained a few friends amongst the crowd who come to support us each time we visit! The TRIGGER gang are extremely receptive to house music and ever so sweet and friendly, so it's impossible not to love performing there on a regular basis! 

We heavily recommend TRIGGER to anyone making the trip up to San Francisco! We have a great time when we visit, and camp up our set a touch with a few screaming "divaesque" vocals and naughty vocal drops and loops!

SATURDAY, ELECTRONIQUE BOUTIQUE @ THE SUNSET STANDARD WITH THE EC TWINS TIM B, ANDRE EZER

We flew back in to LA looking forward to joining 2 international friends on the turntables at THE ELECTRONIQUE BOUTIQUE. We use this place as a weekly wind down! The staff are cool, just like the venue! Stylish, relaxed and hip to death! There is never any door drama, and the place gets packed to capacity every Saturday night! It's a nice blend of a relaxed lounge environment at the back of the club and a rocking club atmosphere on the Dance floor! We introduce new and established talent here on a regular basis and this week had an international line up with our much loved, highly talented production partner TIM B and another close friend ANDRE EZER! The guys did an amazing job of filling the floor and working the crowd, so when it came time for our performance, we simply picked up where they left off and had an amazing time doing so! The energy around the DJ booth gets intense and the crowd is practically standing next to the DJ so the interaction is always very special.

SUNDAY @ MI6 WITH EC TWINS & PAUL HARRIS (DIRTY VEGAS)

SBE is the biggest company in L.A for club ownership, but on a personal level, many of the staff have become extremely close and cherished friends to us! We like to perform at SBE venues as often as our diaries permit, to share a night of house music with people who have become very close to our hearts, like our family away from home!

This Sunday was a VALENTINES special and coincidentally tied in perfectly with a visit from our friend PAUL HARRIS of DIRTY VEGAS. MI-6 dealt with the booking and we joined PAUL behind the turntables for an epic Sunday night! By this point Allister could not stand up at all because of his back pain, but we got through another fun set and thanks to our relationship with the crowd at these events, the place went nuts! By the time PAUL arrived, the crowd was climbing the walls and ready to go! We hit the dance floor..., well Marc did and Allister dragged himself in to a corner, to enjoy the rest of the night before Allister dragged himself home to attempt an O.D on painkillers and Marc hit the after hours spot for the last ever Deep with our friends MARK FARINA, MIGUEL MIGGS and of course Deep founder MARQUES WYATT, Big Love!

Let's face it, we're asking for trouble on this schedule, and in between we still have events to promote, music to produce, artists to book and meetings to attend! It's a relentless schedule that doesn't leave too much time for a private life or sleep, but what can you do!? We have redefined  the HOUSE music scene in the U.S.A as planned and it has exploded and we want to enjoy every second of this journey! We could never put in to words how much it means to us to see your faces each night, but in a nutshell we are insanely grateful! We have some slamming events coming soon, and are in the studio every spare second. No sleep a diet of convenience food and constant jumping up and down to the ear drum destroying beats has left our bodies somewhat thrashed, but as we sit in pain groaning we remind our selves it was all worth it...!
